The Archive

As of August 2021, I have identified 116 fiction books about school shootings. Very few of these are catalogued in such a way at the Library of Congress, making it difficult to track how frequently these books are published. The goal of the School Shooting Fiction Archive is to learn more about this growing subgenre and to figure out what these books can tell us about how we understand school shootings and gun violence more broadly. You can access the archive in two ways: a multimodal exhibit of books organized by cover images and a text-based chronological list of books. Both forms offer access to more information about the books and their authors.
